I thought I would show you guys how to build a home bar because I know there are a lot of people that want something like this in their own home. This can be a relaxing place for you to go with your friends to have a few drinks. Also having this in your home will help to add value to the home, which we can all appreciate. I'm going to send you on your way to your own little bar. Location Finding the right location is extremely important. Don't be afraid to spend a lot of time figuring this out because everything sort of flows from this point. Technically it can be built in just about any area of your home, but typically they're put in the basement, along with other things like pool tables and such. Having enough space is important, so obviously you'll have less trouble going with the basement. Theme All bars have to have a theme, and it is really up to you the choice you want. A lot of guys will have the bar for watching football games and other important sporting events. In this situation you should have have a sports theme to fit in with thing. Personally, I like the retro look because it is my kind of place. You want to make sure that you select something that is going to fit with the room you selected. Budget Appropriately There are a lot of great things you can do with your home, if you're willing to spend the money. Most of us aren't loaded, so we have to pick and choose. This is why it is important to go over the numbers and come up with a decent budget. You don't want to end up half way through the project only to find out that this is going to cost you too much. A budget can also help you find things at a much cheaper rate. You can easily find bargains on the materials you need. Make sure you get all your material first before you start. Plan for Extras Extras are those little things that you never really think of when you see a bar. Maybe you'll want to have a little minifridge. Maybe you'll like to have a sink for things. These things have to be thought about before hand, so you can properly choose a design that can fit in these things. |
