I thought I should help you with the buying process for your own bar. You're going to have to pick up very specific things for the bar and a lot of you don't know where to get them. Well, you probably do, but you don't know how to get your hands on this type of stuff at a good price. I'm going to help educate you on this and you'll have your bar up in no time. Parts and Equipment I thought I'd start with the things you're actually going to need to make your bar. Obviously the first thing you're going to need is the bar counter. This is going to be where you do all the work and mix all the drinks. But it can't be that simple. You're going to need bar moldings to give it a much better feel. This allows people to rest their arms and everyone on there. I'm also a fan of the foot rail that you can put your feet on while you're sitting on a bar stool. I think having a column wine rack is a very important thing to have. This is a great way to easily store some wine bottles around your bar. It's relatively simple to install and looks great. Obviously you're going to need a dry sink to put ice and drinks in if you need to. Oh and having a steamware holder will allow you to hold glasses up for easy access when pooring a drink. The last thing you'll need is a little minifridge to store drinks like your beer and keep them cold. You can also keep your ice trays in there too. Where to Buy The number one place you're going to find all these things and get them at an excellent price is Craigslist. This is really the only way for you to get these things locally and and an extreme discount. Most people are just looking to get rid of things as fast as possible, so they're not concerned about getting the best price for it. Finding most of this stuff is relatively easy. The most common thing you'll see is a minifridge, so there really isn't much to it. For anything else you can't find, I suggest that you take a peak on eBay. You'll have to get all the items shipped to you, but you will still get a great buy on all these things. Practically a lot of these things are only a few dollars plus shipping. |
